Ian Coursey
Ian Coursey grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland singing around the house and playing baseball with his brother, Connor. He soon hung up his bat and dedicated his life to musical theatre. Ian spent his high school years with the Good Counsel Theatre Company, and Young Artists of America, where he met his best friends, and 411 Music Co-Founders, Daniel Seligman and Mia Ehrlich.
When the Covid-19 Pandemic hit, Ian did everything he could to continue creating theatre. He co-founded an educational theatre company, where he served as music director, passing on his knowledge to young theatre-lovers in the D.C area. During this time, Ian also found new ways to create theatre, originating roles in online-workshops written by Danny. During Covid, Ian began to fall in love with other aspects of musical theatre, including music direction and orchestration. He also picked up a guitar, and started writing songs. Ian is currently writing a rock album.
In 2020, Ian began attending The University of Michigan, getting his B.F.A in Musical Theatre and a minor in music composition. At "UMich", Ian starred in several productions, including DOGFIGHT (Eddie Birdlace) HAIR (George Berger) and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (Frank Abagnale Jr.). Ian also assistant music directed the school's production of Andrew Lippa's THE WILD PARTY under the music direction of Jason DeBord, and played saxophone in the pit of school productions such as FUNNY GIRL and VANITIES.
In 2022, Ian took a year away from school, joining the
National Tour of DEAR EVAN HANSEN where he
understudied the roles of Connor and Jared.
A year later, Ian returned to Michigan and graduated alongside his class, earning a B.F.A in Musical Theatre.

Now on tour with THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Ian spends every moment he has offstage working with Danny, Mia, and Andrew, developing the role of THE 1000 YEAR OLD MAN.
